What the reviewed source says

Start with the documented condition, not a parts guess.

Toyota documented vibration or shaking of the image shown in the exterior mirrors on some 2019 to 2021 RAV4 and RAV4 Hybrid vehicles. The bulletin is limited to a condition reproduced at roughly 50 to 70 mph on ordinary paved roads. Other causes, including loose glass or collision damage, still need to be ruled out.

Manufacturer position

What the official procedure directs

Toyota instructs technicians to confirm the mirror image vibration, fit longer mirror mounting studs and add reinforcement bracket extensions with specified adhesive. Both exterior mirrors are repaired under the procedure.

Mileage context

Toyota's bulletin is based on model year and a reproduced symptom, not a mileage threshold. Warranty coverage, if any, depends on the vehicle's in-service date and current status.

Confirm the condition and reinforce both mirrors

A Toyota technician reproduces the specified vibration and, when the bulletin applies, installs longer mounting studs and door-panel reinforcement extensions for both mirrors.

Boundary

The bulletin specifies panel adhesive, threadlocker, torque values and curing time. It is not a simple mirror-glass replacement.

Check the glass and housing while parked

With the vehicle parked and switched off, gently check whether the glass is seated and whether the entire housing is visibly loose or damaged. Note which side is affected and the speed range at which the image starts shaking.

Boundary

Do not film, touch or adjust the mirror while driving. Have a passenger record the symptom if a video is needed.
